In memory of Bebita

Posted July 16th, 2011 in Shelters and tagged , , , , , , , by Josh

How’s this for a story? The truth hurts, and this happens ALL THE TIME.

Owner adopts a 6-month-old puppy out of Carson shelter.
Owner takes her home and names her Bebita.
Owner has her for 6 years as a family pet.
Owner brings her back to the very same shelter (Carson) that she was adopted out of and dumps her back on their doorstep 6 years later.
Carson shelter takes her in on 7/6.
Carson shelter kills her on 7/14.
Owner probably never bothers looking into how things turned out–but we did, and she is dead.
RIP to Bebita, as these pictures speak to her submissive and sweet personality…

My prayers are with Bebita. So unfair. No excuse. She was still a baby!

How can people be so heartless? What the hell is wrong with our society that we continually turn out such monsters? These people that give up their “family members” to kill shelters are without conscience and definitely without soul. It sickens and frightens me to think that we have so many of them among us and it saddens me so much to know that it is the pure innocents that suffer as a result. RIP baby girl… I wish you had known true love in your brief life. This world did not deserve you. Prayers going up to you, sweet Bebita…

    • The sad thing is, sooo many people are under the impression that the shelters are the “SHELTERS”
Of yesteryear! the place that you would go to look for a puppy to adopt. The place that would pick up your dog if it got lose, and keep it safe for you, u till you got in to get him/her out. They think It is the place that was into “THE WELL BEING” of your dog….. Not the place that Governor ARNOLD, shortened the time frame from 7 to 10 days to be found, or to find a new forever family to adopt them… The places that only 1 out of every 10 make it out alive! The place that takes their little deceased bodies, and “SELLS” them for RENDERINGS….

It’s up to “US” that KNOW what the shelters of today are “REALLY” about, to educate, to inform, and to speak for these animals to make sure the generations coming up, understand, that an adopted animal, is the same as an adopted child, and the commitment to ensure their safety & being loved!! And to protect those who come into harms way!! that we stand up for them, and that we be their voices, and NEVER LET ANYONE FORGET THE ONES WE CANT SAVE!!
