This decision was apparently made because someone on the staff said that they had giardia, a non-threatening and easily treatable parasite that causes diarrhea. These were 2-month-old Pit Bull-mixes and, according to many, had numerous people trying to rescue them. Carson, instead of opting to take part in a communication, took part in a repeatable string of lethal injections.

If you have a problem with this, like I do, then please contact these 3 individuals and let them know how you feel…

If there were rescues willing to take them and you have documentation of that, these killings were illegal. Rescues need to put the rescue hold in writing to hold these killer directors accountable.

The fact they were put to sleep IS a shame but to be honest should the blame for the fate of these puppies not rest squarely on the shoulders of the person/people that owned the parents for not bothering to get them fixed????? The puppies & probably mother are paying the ultimate price for their “owners” lack of commitment to an animal they willingly agreed to take responsibility for….I blame that person for this sad situation!!!

@KNC IF YOU READ THIS IT SAID THERE WERE NUMEROUS PEOPLE TRYING TO RESCUE THEM.. THEY COULD HAVE GIVEN THEM A CHANCE, SO YES I ALSO BLAME THEM….

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, you have your’s and I have mine. Have no intention of offending anyone just feel sometimes people like to blame shelters without really knowing all the details….it’s easier. I don’t know all the facts in this case but I know several people that work on both sides of this issue-shelters & rescues and they both find themselves in thankless situations all too often. Shelters with more animals than they can hope to find space/homes for and rescues with people quick to offer help but fail to follow thru with pledges, fostering. It is a sad situation ll the way around.

@KNC I think the owners need to be blamed too, BUT the government, City Officials need to make some Pet Control Rules and REALLY enforce them.  As we all know Most People will do as they please and less they are forced to the right thing.

@TinaScottMerrick  @KNC  Absolutely , The government could and should fund spay and neuter programs . There have been many cases about animal abuse in shelters that I still question whether carsen shelter is not among them..

There is a special place in hell for people that neglect, abuse, and exploit animals.
