This is what surrendering a dog at the shelter looks like…
The dog in this video is still alive, but will most likely be killed in a matter of days if not rescued or adopted…
He also has full sponsorship from a very generous admirer!
So if any part of you is considering adopting/rescuing/fostering then please take a trip down to the Carson shelter and meet him.

Absolutely heartbreaking. I had to leave a stray once in the intake cage, it took months for me to get over the look in his eyes. HOW is an owner able to do that and walk away? I will never understand the “disposable” world of dogs.
No matter how many we rescue…
They just keep coming in, and coming in….
SPAY, NEUTER, SPAY, NEUTER, SPAY, NEUTER…….
Tears…this breaks my heart…Pit Bulls are preciuos sweet Dogs that need love and companionship like EVERY animal does…I truly hope this Dog and many othe rlike him can find forever homes with families that love and let them live happy lives! Please rescue an animal in a shelter, and spay and neuter your pets!!
Today is his last day… has there been any response yet? Is he still alive; did he make it out safe? Please keep us posted, thanks…
The last two dogs we adopted were “street dogs” and they were over 2 years old. Seems like everyone wants puppies. Both of our dogs would have probably faced the needle if we hadn’t rescued them. Maggie (who had at least two pregnancies according to the vet) is a sweet black lab and we are so happy to have her. Our other dog is a terrier who was named Brine – we tried to change it to Brian but when we caught him going through our trash (something he probably did on the street), we started calling him Trashcan. Perhaps people can stop looking for puppies and realize that the older animals are just in need of love.
I literally just sat here and cried as i watched this. How can you just abondon a family member after 5 years!? I couldnt imagine life without my two dogs, i love them just as much as my daughter!!! That poor baby looked so confused & wondering why he was there. Its unbeliveably heart breaking & i just dont understand.
That was so painful to watch. As a cat mom of 2 boy cats who just rescued a 10 yr. old female who was thrown away for a UTI (ladies?!?) and animal lover and advocate, I thank you for all you do day after day garnering awareness of the problem and being a voice for the innocent furry faces.
I once brought a stray to a shelter. I was feeding her for weeks and then got a film gig out of town for 6 weeks. I couldn’t bring her in to my small apt. already home to 2 cats, especially with my being away. I told them SPECIFICALLY that this was temporary. If no one came to adopt her while I was away, then I would take her back and be responsible for her. I called to check up on several occasions throughout that time. Upon my return, I was told there was no record of a “Cleo”. No record? After many questions and follow up calls, I learned she had been killed. Why?!? “Unadoptable”. UNADOPTABLE?!? This girl who would wait for me in my carport for me to come home. Wind in between my legs, at my feet, purr and meow? She was clearly someone’s abandoned pet. I cried with guilt when I brought her to the “shelter” for what I thought was best at the time. I will never forget Cleo, nor what I did. I’m very sorry. I could NEVER, EVER do that to my pet–let alone someone else’s.
